Discuss Six Comprehensive Benefits that can be Experiened by an Individual, Family and Community from Practicing Health and wellness Lifestyle.

Health refers to the state that is free from the illness. Health shows the mental and physical state of a person. Wellness is the state that refers to the good health. Wellness is one type of pursued goal. Both the health and wellness plays significant role in human life (Center, 2016). Health is considered as the dynamic process as the status of health always changes. Everyone has to g through various states of health such as good health, ill health and changing lifestyle. Wellness has a strong connection with the health.
The meaning of health and wellness is capability to live life properly and in a well manner. Wellness is related with the physical, intellectual, interpersonal, emotional, spiritual, environmental and social well-being. Health and wellness plays major role in case of individual, community and family (Goetzel et al., 2014).
In the assignment, the discussion focuses on the six comprehensive benefits that can be gained from the health practice and wellness lifestyle.  The six comprehensive benefits are discussed with the examples.
Improved cardiovascular or heart & blood vessels efficiency
According to Heinonen et al. (2014), cardiovascular fitness refers to the ability of lungs, blood vessels and heart for functioning effectively and efficiently during the physical exercise of the body. Cardiovascular system is consisted of the cardio or heart, blood vessels. Exercise helps to improve the heart or cardiovascular and blood vessel efficiency. Cardiovascular fitness helps to improve the path of oxygen usage. Blood vessels and the circulation need to work efficiently. Hyperthermia is one of the techniques that help to increase the efficiency of the blood vessels an speed up the healing.
The blood vessels help to transport the blood, nutrient and oxygen to the body as function as the transportation system. Blood vessels help to transport the waste products from muscles (Black, 2015). Therefore, blood vessels plays significant and efficient role in the body.
In case of individuals, cardiovascular exercises help to increase the heart rate and efficiency of the blood vessels. However, one needs to be careful during practice the cardiovascular exercises as it can increase the blood pressure, which can harm the person. However, the cardiovascular exercises help to improve the blood vessel efficiency that enhances the function of supplying oxygen to the body (Center, 2016). Therefore, the body gets more oxygen and nutrient and the chance of heart problems decreases.
Improved cardiovascular function and blood vessel efficiency help to improve the family life. This provides various benefits to the families. For example, if there is no case of heart problem then the family can lead a tension free life. The cardio vascular exercise can help in such condition. The improved cardiovascular exercise increases the exercise tolerance and help to reduce the body weight (Fernandes et al., 2015). It helps to reduce the blood pressure and effects of bad cholesterol. In a family, if all the members can lead a disease or illness free life then their lifestyle is known as the wellness lifestyle.
The improved cardiovascular system can increase the function of brain and make it more efficient to work (Black, 2015). This can help a community. For example, in a community, if people can live a disease free lifestyle then it will help them to develop faster.
Increased muscle tone, strength, flexibility & endurance
Increased muscle tone can be achieved via the physical exercise. The muscle tone refers to the nonstop and passive contraction of muscle. Lau, Yu and Woo (2015) mentioned that the muscle tone is the resistance of muscle to the passive stretch at the time of resting condition. Muscle endurance refers to the capability of muscle or muscle group for the repeatedly exertion of the force against the resistance. Muscle flexibility is the movement range in the joint of the muscle, which cross-joints for inducing the bending movement.
Muscle tone helps to reduce the muscle tension and continue the contraction. Moreover, the muscle tone helps to maintain the posture. In case of health and wellness, muscle strength and flexibility plays important role. This helps in the movement of the body and tries to execute the range of motion. The muscular endurance is the ability of muscle to perform a work repeatedly over the long time without fatigue (Haff & Triplett, 2015). The muscular endurance depends on the aerobic metabolism.
In case of individuals, muscle tone, strength, flexibility and endurance plays important role. This can improve the lifestyle of an individual and enhances the wellness of health. Increased muscle endurance, strength, and flexibility help to create energy in the body and provide the ability to work for several hours without fatigue (Haff & Triplett, 2015).
It has a significant role in case of maintaining the family life. When the members of the family can work efficiently and effectively for several hours, it will improve the understanding of the family members and provide a happy atmosphere (Amini & Daneshmand, 2016). This atmosphere will cheer up the family to be healthy and lead a wellness lifestyle.
In a community, if all the people can have the muscle strength, flexibility and endurance, then it will be easier for them to achieve the desired goals.  The achievement of desired goals can make them happy. Happiness has a significant link with the health and wellbeing (Lau, Yu and Woo, 2015). Happiness can improve the health status of a person and wellness of health.
Improved self-control, self-efficiency & self-esteem
There are various easy to improve the self-control, self-esteem and self-efficiency. Individuals need to have self–esteem, self-control and self-efficiency to improve the lifestyle and wellness of health. Self-control is the capability of controlling owns self to maintain the emotions and wishes of the particulars (Ebrahimi & Jahanian, 2014). One should have the self-efficiency that will make the person capable to execute the behavior and performance attainments.
Self-control increases the willpower of a person that helps to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Self-esteem is the ability to accept everything positively. Self-esteem helps the person to feel good and respond to others in a healthy and positive way. Self-efficiency is the belief of a person that motivates him to take challenges (Hemati et al., 2015). This helps to be succeeding in a work and achieve the goals.
By improving the self-esteem, self-efficiency and self-control, one can be able to understand its needs and helps to meet others’ expectations. This will help the person to accept the disagreement and respect others values and behaviors. Improvement of self-esteem, self-control and self-esteem helps the individuals to take challenges in life that will improve their lives (Goetzel et al., 2014). By this, the individuals can expand their comfort zone.
This can help the families as well as the individuals. This will help the families to accept the changes and be more resilient. Tragedy or problems can occur at any time. The family members need to be strong and have self-control to manage the situation. In such condition, the family members need to be calm and take proper decision.
In a community, the members need to have the self-control that will help them to learn various things. Self-control, self-esteem and self-efficiency help to discover various things about life and help to know the way to be healthy and maintain wellness (Goetzel et al., 2014). If the members of the community can have self-control then they will be able to lead a healthy life and avoid various diseases. This will help to increase the life span and decrease the morbidity and mortality rate.
Improved stress management & outlook on life
Stress management is key skills, therapies and techniques aimed to control a person’s stress level, for improving the daily functioning as well as overall well being of the person. Stress can produce several physical and mental issues, based on the situational factors. The stress management techniques or therapies help to improve the ability of the person to manage and control own stress level, thereby reducing the chances of such negative consequences in life, which in turn improves the outlook on life of the person (Boss, Bryant & Mancini, 2016). Techniques of self-management include regular evaluation of stress, physical activity and traditional methods of stress relief, psychotherapy and stress management sessions.
Stress management is crucial for managing acute as well as chronic stress and reducing the occurrence of associated physical, mental and social issues. Stress management include several health benefits including improved immune functionality, improved cardiovascular health, improved memory and improved blood pressure (Folkman, 2013). Stress management is important to deal with conflicts in personal, social as well as professional life. Improved stress management can significantly reduce the progress of stress related symptoms towards chronic mental disorders like depression or dementia.
Stress management and improved outlook on life can provide a wide range of benefits at individual, family as well as community level. For example, a person, who is undergoing stress management sessions or the person able to manage stress can deal with unstable mood, clear thought process, personal and social relationships are improved and risk of chronic stress and associated symptoms are diminished.  At family level, stress management and outlook on life helps to motivate family members to manage their own health, improves interaction and strengthens relationships, improves children’s learning and thinking ability and improves professional commitment, while eliminating the occurrence of negative psychological consequences (Boss, 2014). At community level, improved stress management and outlook on life will improve social relationships, enhance engagement of people towards the well being of community and reduce psychological issues across the community; leading towards a healthy community.
Improved interpersonal relationship
Interpersonal relationship can be defined as a strong, close and in-depth relationship within two or more people. The relationship may last for short or long term period. The basis of the relationship can be love, inference, solidarity, business interaction, social commitment or health activities. There are several types of interpersonal relationship, for example intimate relationships between spouse, lovers; family relationship, friendship, customer, business relationship, neighbor and other official relationships (Yarnell & Neff, 2013). There are two key parts in the relationship, which are shaping the relationship, i.e. power is the ability to influence the behavior of others, in a relationship, usually one person consist the power of dominating the other.
Human beings are social animals and their experiences are shaped through the influence of others, associated with the person. Thus, there are several perspectives for understanding the inherent significant and motivation for interacting with others. For instance, with the principle of Maslow’s hierarchy or needs, one of the basic needs of human is to feel love and acceptance from social groups like family, peer groups and other social commitments (Uchida & Ogihara, 2012). In fact, the need to belong is strong enough to overcome physiological and safety needs, including dominating business relationship, children’s attachment to abusive parents or being involved in abusive love relationship. On the other hand, interpersonal relationship is important for social exchange as well as to develop a sense of self or self-belief.
With several examples, the benefit of improved interpersonal relationship can be demonstrated. For instance, improved interpersonal relationship skills of an individual make the person able to deal with personal relationship by understanding the needs for improving the status of the relationship. On the other hand, improved interpersonal relationship among the family members makes a strong bonding among the members, reduces the risk of domestic violence and provides a healthy environment to the children in the family, thereby shaping their future towards an improved path (Costa, Ntoumanis & Bartholomew, 2015). On the other hand, improved interpersonal relationship among business staffs, employee-employer, neighbours, teacher-students and other social commitments improve the effectiveness of the activity, for which the relationship has been built. For instance, in case of improved teacher student relation, the fate will lead to improved educational outcome of the student and satisfaction of teacher, improved employee-employer relationship would improve business performance of the employee, which in turn positively affects the performance of the company.
Decreased mortality & morbidity from illness
Mortality is the term that refers to the incidence of death or the number of deaths in a population. For instance, morbidity rate is referred to the incidence rate of diabetes in a population. In contrast, morbidity is referred to the incidence of ill health in a population, i.e. the state of being diseased or unhealthy throughout a population. For example, crude death rate, i.e. the total number of death per year due to diabetes. Both of these concepts can be implemented at an individual level throughout the population (Hill & Turiano, 2014). For example, morbidity can be implemented at the individual level by indicating someone with diabetes; mortality can be referred to individual level, by indicating a person’s death due to diabetes. In this context, morbidity rate concentrates upon the incidence of a disease through a population along with the geographical location of the population throughout the year.
In this context, the mortality and morbidity rate are significantly assisting health care sector along with research and development to understand the current status of a disease in the population. Whereas, decreased mortality and morbidity from a particular illness is defining that a particular illness is less affecting the population and the secondary prevention rate is being improved, which is reducing the health issue from the population. It also signifies improved awareness of the population, which is helping them to adhere to the disease preventive strategies (Seligman & Csikszentmihalyi, 2014).
The decreased mortality and morbidity from an illness can be beneficial at individual, family as well as community level, which can be defined with suitable examples. Decreased morbidity rate due to swine flu reduces the chance of an individual to be affected by a disease; on the other hand, reduced chance of an individual to be affected by swine flu in turn reduces chance of transmission of the infectious disease to the other members in the family (Kashdan & Ciarrochi, 2013). On the other hand, reduced mortality and morbidity makes a community healthy, when most of the community members remain unaffected by the disease, the community becomes progressive and members become more liable to their disease preventive role to make a healthier community.
From the above discussion, it has been revealed that practicing health and wellness lifestyle help to gain six comprehensive benefits at individual, family as well as community level. It has also been revealed that the health and wellbeing of an individual can directly affect the wellbeing of a family; whereas well being of some families directly affect the wellbeing of the community as well. In this assignment, six comprehensive benefits represented significant impact upon betterment of physical, social as well as psychological aspects of a person’s life. Therefore, from the assignment, it can b concluded that healthy lifestyle and wellness management at individual level can promote the development and wellness of the overall community. From the reading, the readers would be able to understand the impact of individual health and wellbeing upon the social wellness.
